There are three core values that guide Agape Project, Inc. in its relationships, decisions, and management: affirmation, involvement, and empowerment. These flow from the most basic of values--Agape love. Christ Himself is our primary role model for all three of these values. They guided His relationship with His disciples, and our desire is that they guide Agape Project and the single mothers it serves.
Affirmation is the most elemental of all Christian values. It is the most basic value that is expressed in love and forgiveness--love when we are working in a positive relationship and forgiveness when we are working in a negative relationship. Affirmation encourages calculated risk. It enables mistakes to fuel a learning environment. It is fundamental to healthy and productive relationships of the women coming to Agape Project. Affirmation encourages, builds, enables, empowers, and ensures the fulfillment of each individual that is a part of Agape Project's ministry.
The two most significant examples of involvement in God's relationship with us are His decision to involve us in His creation and in the Great Commission. God created us in His own image; therefore, He has given us a share in what He is and has--stewardship over things that affect us. Stewardship requires involvement. Agape Project values relationships that model joint stewardship, shared responsibility, team decisions, and the combined gifts, talents, and resources of both leadership and Agape Project's single mothers.
Empowerment is the value that takes involvement to the next important step. It is servant leadership in action. Empowerment involves holding one another responsible and accountable. Agape Project seeks to cultivate an environment that lifts up the success of others and enables them to reach their full potential. Personal development and a learning environment are vital prerequisites that empower single women to meet with success.
We rejoice in the affirmation, involvement, and empowerment of our single mothers; however, our deepest joy comes from each life that is spiritually transformed by our Lord Jesus Christ through the ministry of Agape Project, Inc.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!" (2 Corinthians 5:17, NIV)
