Agape Services
The objects and purposes of Agape Project, Inc. are to assist single mothers and their families, crossing socio-economic barriers, with hands extended to bring healing to the hurting, wholeness to the broken, help to the helpless, and the love of God through Jesus Christ, resulting in changed lives.

This is accomplished through the following outreach services:

Baby Closet
School Supplies
Christmas
Emergency Food Pantry
Library
Newsletter
Thanksgiving Meals
Baby Closet:
Agape Project, Inc. maintains an infant and toddler closet, including clothes, shoes, furniture, car seats, baby food, diapers & diaper bags, etc., which is overseen by dedicated volunteers.

Back to School Supplies:
Every year, Agape Project, Inc. partners with various local agencies, schools, and churches to collect school supplies for the children of our single mothers.  We call it our Back-To-School Supplies Fair.  Our children receive everything that the school they attend is requiring, from pencils to bookbags.  In 2007, Agape equipped over 260 children from 138 families with supplies to begin a new school year.  Thanks to such donors as the Berlin/Ocean City Optimists, this reflects a 53% increase over 2006.

Christmas:
Partnering with local agencies, families, and churches, we arrange for over 200 families to be adopted for Christmas.  Our single mothers and their children usually receive everything on their Wish Lists, even if it's a bike!

Emergency Food Pantry:
Agape Project, Inc. maintains an emergency food pantry for our single mothers, which is overseen by dedicated volunteers.  It is stocked by high school or church drives, donations, or sometimes our volunteers just "go shopping." Our volunteers include picture books and toys in the food boxes of those mothers with small children.  They also prepare special packages of food items with a printed recipe to go with each package. Each box consists of at least a 3-day supply of food.

Library:
Agape Project, Inc. maintains a small circulating library of mainly Christian materials; however, it encompasses all genres and media--videos, DVDs, CDs, fiction, nonfiction, juvenile, young adult, picture books, and board books.  The material circulates on the honor system.  Most of the material comes to us by way of donations.  If you have quality books to donate, please call us at 410-641-1011.

Newsletter:
Agape Project, Inc. sends out an almost monthly newsletter to our mailing list of 500 families.  In this way we are able to keep them apprised of course offerings, visiting speakers, gatherings, holiday promotions, and upcoming programs.
