Here you will find the answers to many of the questions that we are asked.

Do I have to be a member of Agape Project in order to receive any benefits?
Yes, but it's painless and free. We give each new client a survey form to complete that we keep on file and we do request that each client try to attend one of our program offerings each year.

What if I just need some food or some diapers and I don't really plan to return?
We are happy to help you in an emergency situation, but we still need to have your information in our files. It's especially helpful for statistical purposes.

Do I have to belong to a religion to be a member of Agape?
No, but because we are a Christian ministry, we do encourage our Moms to attend a church of their choice and we do ask that you attend at least one of our program offerings each year.

Is Agape governed by any religious denomination?
No. Agape is non-denominational. It is governed by a 12-member board of directors.

For your annual Back-To-School Giveaway, how do you know what supplies my child needs and how do I go about getting them?
Each year Agape contacts the area schools for a list of the supplies they require from their students. We notify our mothers by newsletter of the date (usually sometime in August) to come in for supplies. It's a fun day with a cookout, face painting, snow cones, etc. Check out our slide show to see the great time we had in August 2005.

How can my family and I participate in your Christmas benefits?
A notice will go out in our newsletter of the dates to come in to fill out your wish lists. We then get busy getting you and your family "adopted" for Christmas. As soon as the gifts are delivered to us, we notify you to come in and pick them up.

Do you do anything for the families at Thanksgiving?
Yes. You call us asking to have your name on our Thanksgiving list, telling us how many are in your family. We partner with Delmarva Mount Aire for food boxes and chickens. A couple of days before Thanksgiving they are delivered to us and you come in to Agape to pick them up.

Do you provide an IRS receipt for financial contributions?
Yes! A receipt is mailed to each donor stating the amount of the donation, as well as the year-to-date amount that has been donated.
