The Scriptures tell us that without a vision His people will perish.  In 1995 three ladies were burdened with the circumstances of the many single mothers in the area.  God gave a promise and a command to the seed now known as Agape Project, Inc., a ministry to single mothers.  At that time the Lord gave a message from Habakkuk 2:2.  His instructions were to "...Write the vision and engrave it so plainly upon tablets that everyone who passes may [be able to] read [it]."  That was done.

With that vision came a promise from Habakkuk 2:3:  "For the vision is yet for an appointed time and it hastens to [fulfillment]; it will not deceive or disappoint.  Though it tarry, wait for it, because it will surely come..."  Through a series of events a clear direction was given.  By early 1996 a Board of Directors was in place and seed money was given.  An office became available and was dedicated in the Fall of 1997.  December 1998 a Director was employed to develop Agape Project.

In the Spring of 2000, the Berlin Police Department approached Agape, asking it to become a part of a community effort to address needs in the community.  A new office location was established in June 2000.  And then another, larger office was dedicated in 2002.  In 2004, the current location, 525 Bay Street, Unit #135 of Quail Run II in Berlin, became available and is larger still to allow expansion of ministry.  The vision has been being revealed over the past twelve years as Agape Project, Inc. has been developing a ministry to single mothers and their children through church and community involvement.  Relationships and programs are still being developed . . .

And prayer continues . . .

Jesus said He was sent to bring the Good News to the poor, proclaim release to the captives, give sight to the blind, and to free the downtrodden (Luke 4:18).  In His name we are called to serve those He came to serve and for whom He gave His life.
